Donate To Conserve Texas Working Lands Today and Forever.

Conserve an Acre. Benefit Every Texan.
Private lands protect the clean water, fresh air, wildlife, and iconic landscapes that define Texas. When you help conserve an acre, you’re investing in ecological health, economic strength, and a legacy for future generations.
A $50 gift can help conserve one acre with TALT. Your gift, at any level, helps protect Texas one acre at a time.

More Ways to Give
Your support helps protect Texas’ working lands for future generations. In addition to online donations, here are a few other meaningful ways to give:
Give Through Your IRA
If you’re 70½ or older, you can make a tax-free gift directly from your IRA to TALT. This Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) can count toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) and may reduce your taxable income.
Ask your IRA administrator to send your gift directly to TALT.
Donate Stock
Giving appreciated stock is a smart way to support land conservation and may offer significant tax benefits. You can avoid capital gains tax and receive a charitable deduction for the full market value.

Planned Giving
Carrying on a legacy is a Lewis family tradition. Steve Lewis’ family has been at the helm of Jefferson Bank in San Antonio for nearly 75 years.
The Lewis family has a similar legacy in land stewardship. The family stewards three different ranches throughout the state and Steve treasures memories of traveling to West Texas with his grandfather.
“Those experiences helped me appreciate how wide-open Texas is and were instrumental to my forming a conservation ethic,” Steve recalled.
That conservation ethic has formed the philanthropic choices Steve has made throughout his life. Steve and his wife Susan have supported TALT with time and resources from day one. A few years ago, TALT created an endowment called the Forever Texas Fund® to ensure that TALT’s work will continue in perpetuity. Recently, Steve and Susan updated their wills to leave a planned gift to support the endowment after they are gone.
“It was an easy decision for Susan and I to include a gift to the Forever Texas Fund in our last will and testament. We hope other Texas landowners will follow suit,” said Steve.
